Steveman and AlexWoman bolted through the crumbling house, shadows clawing at their heels. Monsters slithered from every crack—scaled, snarling, eyes glowing like embers. The portal pulsed in the distance, a shimmering lifeline. *Hurry.* Thorns erupted from the floorboards, serrated and venomous; they sidestepped, breaths ragged. A gurgling snarl—a beast lunged. Steveman grabbed AlexWoman’s wrist, yanking her back as jaws snapped air. "Jump *now*!" They vaulted over the creature, boots skidding on rot-soft wood. Poisonous water seeped through cracks, pooling underfoot—one misstep, and the acrid liquid hissed, dissolving stone. "Stay sharp!" AlexWoman hissed, leaping onto a tilting table. Monsters closed in, a writhing wall of fangs. They sprinted, ducking under claw-swipes, hearts hammering. The portal’s light burned brighter. A final leap—thorns raked Steveman’s arm, blood welling—but AlexWoman dragged him forward. Together, they plunged into the light, the howls of the house fading as the world tore apart.
