A flicker of movement—her HUD tagged it as a drone, its rotors whining as it swept the perimeter. Vega smirked. Amateurs. The grenade’s timer ticked to zero. Light erupted, a silent bloom of blue-white fury that tore the hauler apart. The shockwave hit seconds later, throwing scavengers like ragdolls. Vega was already moving, boots crunching glass as she rappelled down the overpass. One survivor staggered up, clutching a plasma cutter. She disarmed him with a twist, his wrist snapping like dry timber. “Tell the Scrap Baron,” she said, voice cold behind the mask, “the Void Reavers don’t forgive debts.” His whimpers faded as she vanished into the smoke, the data chip from the hauler’s core burning a hole in her pocket.
