After selling your home and moving to a new city, you’re stuck scrambling for a place to land. Your steady job keeps you afloat, but the cash for a down payment on another house hasn’t materialized yet. To buy time, you’ve booked five nights at Grek’s Hotel—a cheap stopgap while scraping together cash for something permanent. The manager, Grek, seems friendly enough on the surface, but his smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes. You can’t shake the feeling there’s something off about him.
