Description
(1) Neon streaks burn across the asphalt as the sun bleeds into the horizon. (2) The crewmates rev their engines, a symphony of synthetic growls under the electric hum of failing streetlights. (3) This is it. The final race. The crown awaits at the finish line, glowing under the casino's massive sign. (4) My character grips the handles, knuckles white, focus absolute. No room for error, no room for an imposter's trick. (5) We launch forward as one, a blur of color against the deep purple sky. Tires screech, throwing sparks that rival the emerging stars. (6) Dodging and weaving through the pack, I spot the lead. Just one opponent to beat. The track is a tunnel of light and shadow. (7) A sharp turn approaches. I cut inside, riding the edge of the track, feeling the heat from the exhaust. (8) We're neck and neck, the final stretch a straight shot of blazing neon. I push everything to the limit, the engine screaming in protest. (9) The finish line flashes beneath me a fraction of a second before him. The crowd's roar is deafening. (10) Victory. The crown is mine under the dazzling, chaotic glow of dusk.
