Beneath the jagged cliffs of the Shattered Peaks, a lone wanderer crouches in the ashen remains of a forgotten battlefield, fingertips brushing the hilt of a rusted sword half-buried in soil stained with centuries-old blood. The wind carries not whispers but screams—echoes of a war that scorched the sky and left the earth cracked like a grieving widow’s hands. Shadows pool where moonlight refuses to tread, and among them, something shifts: a glint of scales, a flicker of eyes burning with hunger for the living. Every step forward crushes bones into powder, each breath tasting of iron and rot. The wanderer’s map, scrawled with riddles in a dead king’s hand, claims a vault lies buried here, its doors sealed by a curse that devours hope. But curses have teeth, and teeth can be broken—if one is fool enough to reach into the dark and pry them loose. Somewhere ahead, a drumbeat pulses, slow and primal, syncing with the thud of a heart that shouldn’t still be beating. Survival isn’t a question of strength here. It’s a bet placed against the house, and the house always cheats.
