Description
Ariel serves as the central protagonist of Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated feature, *The Little Mermaid* (1989), later starring in the 1992–1994 prequel television series, the direct-to-video sequel *The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea* (2000), and the direct-to-video prequel *The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning* (2008). Voiced exclusively by Jodi Benson across all animated projects and related media, she holds the distinction of being Disney’s fourth official princess, the first without human origins, and the sole member of the princess lineup to transition into motherhood within her character’s narrative arc.
