Emerging from the creative minds of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, Captain America debuted in *Captain America Comics* #1, released by Timely Comics in March 1941. Conceived as a symbol of patriotism and enhanced soldier, the character became synonymous with resistance against Axis forces during World War II, skyrocketing to become Timely’s flagship figure throughout the conflict. Post-war superhero fatigue led to the series’ cancellation in 1950, followed by a brief, unsuccessful revival three years later. Marvel Comics reintroduced the icon in 1964, cementing his place in pop culture with continuous stories ever since, evolving beyond his wartime roots while retaining his core ideals.
